Athens

We've been asked to share some of our favorite pictures from around the world. This is a picture of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece we took over Thanksgiving 2005.

After our small group of clients and friends did a great tour of Greece with Globus Tours we spend 3 days in Athens in the old section of town called the Plaka. A great area with restaurants and shops.

The hotel we stayed in, which was right at the foot of the Acropolis was actually called the Plaka Hotel. this is a small hotel, non-pretentios, with clean modern rooms and reasonable prices.

I think our Greece land tour was one of the better tour vacations
we have taken. A lot of things stand out but the view of the Acropolis at night lit-up was breathtaking and just added an asterik to our trip.

Athens is a city we could have spent a great deal more time in. It is a busy, vital city with new and old culture. We hope to return and spend more time next trip.

Karen, thanks for a great trip.
